On July 17th, FC Dallas players Pablo Ricchetti, Dominic Oduro, Michael Dello-Russo and Eric Avila stopped by to pay a visit to the Children's Medical Center in Dallas. The players were joined by FCD staffer, Kara Kearby, who volunteers at Children's in their Emergency Room.
Visiting children and teens from the gastrointestinal, renal, and hematology/oncology units who ranged in age from two to fifteen, the players talked to the kids, gave out soccer balls and team posters, and signed autographs. The players took the time to visit all five playrooms at the hospital and played foosball, video games, and shared a few soccer tricks with the kids.
Dominic Oduro had a great time and loved interacting with the kids. "Today reminded me to treasure life and remember how fortunate we are to have chances like this," Oduro said. "The kids were incredible and so great to be around. They are so full of love and joy. It was amazing."
Pablo Ricchetti, who volunteers with the Frisco Miracle League, gives back to the community whenever he can. "The players need to make the time to visit kids and do what we can to help them in whatever way," said Pablo. "I love kids, and I always do what I can to help out. If we can take a few minutes out of our day and bring smiles to kids' faces, then what else could be better?"
