On August 4th, the FC Dallas Foundation and Lift Up America partnered again to host over 1,800 at-risk and deserving youth from the Dallas / Ft. Worth Metroplex at the FC Dallas vs. Colorado Rapids game at Pizza Hut Park. Children that attended the game were our MVPs for the day, receiving stadium credentials, the opportunity to walk through the team-tunnel and high-five line onto the stadium field and a chance to meet FC Dallas Players. The children also participated in field events including soccer skill stations, were provided dinner by Pizza Hut and Dr. Pepper, and given goody bags as they left the game with toys and a $5,000 scholarship to Dallas Christian College.
The purpose of Lift Up America sports events is to plant seeds of hope in the lives of children. Providing local organizations with the opportunity to meet FC Dallas players, participate in events on the field and watch an FC Dallas game creates a stepping stone for these youth to build upon and remember for the future. MVPs entered the field through the FC Dallas team tunnel. Once on the field, MVPs were able to participate in various skill stations, including dribbling, passing, and shooting. They also were able to participate in relay races and could see themselves on the jumbo-screen throughout the stadium. | |
 | MVPs were able to enter the player hallway and high five FC Dallas players before they went down onto the field. This was a very exciting experience for our MVPs as well as our players.
